Embellishment Clusters

Like yours, no doubt, my scrapbooking style has evolved since I first started. Evolved and is evolving. Over the past year or so, I've moved towards pages that are richer, visually, than my first bare bones + stickers pages. Richer pages mean embellishments.

Here’s one I made; fairly tame, huh?

Some aspects of scrapbooking I really have to work at, and embellishments is one of them. It takes a lot of trial and error, sometimes. On the other hand, I want to accent my page not make it so built up it doesn’t fit inside an album.

Among sites where I've found some great tips, inspiration and instruction is Debbie Hodge's “Get It Scrapped.” She recently published an article on embellishment clusters, “Ideas for Scrapbook Page Embellishment Clusters.” Some of the example layouts seem a little over the top, gotta admit, but overall I found it really helpful.
